Eagle Season Wrapping Up

Story by WBGZ Radio

The Riverbend eagle season is starting to wind down, as is usually the case in mid march. There are still a handful of events on the calendar. With the mild winter, eagle counts have been down a little over years with colder weather and more ice on the local rivers.

Alton Regional Convention and Visitor’s Bureau President Brett Stawar tells The Big Z even so, it was a good season for eagle tourism.

He says the economic impact over the first two months of the year should be well over $2-million. For more information on the remaining eagle events in our area, call 618-465-6676.
