Foul Play Suspected in Disappearance

Story by WBGZ Radio

Major Case Squad investigators now believe the Denita Hedden disappearance involves foul play. Hedden was last seen on January 25th after returning home to Royal Lakes from a trip to the Ameristar Casino. She left again that night, and investigators now say a person of interest has been identified by the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis.

Investigators have turned over evidence and information to the Macoupin County State’s Attorney Jennifer Watson for consideration. The investigation has transitioned back to the Macoupin County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators are still asking property owners, farmers, and residents to check their property, even if searchers have already been there, for anything unusual. If you have anything to share with police, call the Macoupin County Sheriff’s Office at 217-854-3135.
