Suspects in Olin Park Robberies Charged

Three members of the same family are said to have participated in a couple of recent incidents at an Alton park.  Earlier this month, investigators say 18-year-old Kevan K. Vann (pictured, middle) of the 1,100 block of State Street, 17-year-old Nathan S. Vann (pictured, bottom), and 20-year-old Lyhia Vann (pictured, top), of the same address in the 1,200 block of State Street, robbed one man and tried to do the same to another.  Two of the three are behind bars.

The charges filed by the Madison County State's Attorney state the three took money from one man on August 5, and the next day tried to rob another man.  When the potential victim tried to flee, they allegedly chased him into a car while indicating by their actions that they were armed with a dangerous weapon.  Kevan and Nathan are in custody, but Lyhia remains at large.  Each are charged with felony robbery and felony attempted aggravated robbery.  Bond for each has been set at $85,000.
