Police say a man arguing with his parent's led to an Thursday night standoff in Pontoon Beach. Around 8:00pm 28-year-old Brandon J. Caple allegedly began firing shots inside a home on Carla Drive after fighting with his mom and dad. Nearby neighbors were evacuated as a precaution. SWAT teams even used a robot at one point to try and reach the gunman. He was taken into custody without incident around 4:00 a.m. He has been charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault, aggravated discharge, and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
East Alton police were holding 50-year-old Patricia A. Patterson of the 500 block of Dry Street of theft under $500 and on a warrant. There was no one new being held in the Wood River Jail this morning. Alton police reports were unavailable due to numerous bookings in progress.
