A top Republican state lawmaker agrees with the governor that pension reform must happen after the election. Illinois House Minority Leader Tom Cross (R-Oswego) says pension reform must happen, and in a bipartisan way. “I think it’s going to take a bipartisan collaborative effort to get this done the right way,” Cross said.
Gov. Pat Quinn agrees that public pension reform must have the support of both parties. “There’s no such thing as Republican pension reform or Democratic pension reform. It’s Illinois pension reform, for the good of the people,” Quinn said.
