George “Jack” W. Pace

George “Jack” W. Pace, age 97, of Godfrey, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born October 20, 1919, in Kirksey, KY, one of eight children of Herbert and Althenie (Butler) Pace. George had retired from Owens-Illinois Glassworks where he had worked as an Administrator. George attended SIUE and completed the Industrial Management course, he also attended Shurtleff College with a certificate in Calculating Machine Operation and also completed the 'Dale Carnegie Course'. He was most proud of the Dale Carnegie course. He was also a farmer. George was an avid golfer who enjoyed bowling (he belonged to the '700' Bowling Clubs of America), fishing and hunting as well. He was a true Cardinals baseball fan and never missed a game on TV. But, his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He is survived by two children, Craig (Daylinda) Pace of Godfrey, and Jacqueline Pace of TX; a brother, Leroy Pace of GA; four grandchildren, William Pace, Karen Pace, Rex Harbison, and Mark Harbison; nine great-grandchildren, Samantha, Levi, Kenton, Colin, Cateline, Zach, Nick, Kaitlin, and Gracey; and extended family, Teri Copeland, and Linsay Copeland.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three former wives, Capitola “Cappy”, Eileen, and Janice; and six of his siblings, Evert, Delbert, Mary, Anie, Lois & Herbert.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel with Pastor George Humbert officiating.
Burial will take place in Valhalla Memorial Park.
Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey is in charge of arrangements.
