Dan Hauhe

East Alton—Dan Hauhe, 80, passed away at 5:32 a.m. Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

Born Nov. 24, 1936 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Thomas W. and Frances (Lefler) Hauhe.

On Aug. 5, 1960, he married Linda J. Barr. She survives in East Alton.

He retired as a bricklayer, working for Marvin Peeples Masonry Co. Dan was a member of Connect Church and enjoyed visiting the elderly and sick. He loved Looney Tunes cartoons, and cherished time spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 daughters, Terry Hauhe, Cindy (Mike) Purcell of Alton, and Laura (George) Hamilton of Troy, IL; 2 sons, Scott (Sherry) Lowe of Kimberling City, MO and Barry (Kris) Hauhe of Palm Harbor, FL; 13 grandchildren and spouses, Heather (and Craig), Kelli, Mollie, Luke, Bryan (and Avery), Brandon, Brent, Leah (and Kyle), Matt, Amanda (and Tim), Sarah (and Zach), Catina (and Rowdy), and Chris (and Stephanie); 19 great grandchildren, Brennan, Josh, Cooper, Wyatt Daniel, Owen, Wyatt, Hunter, Paige, T.J., Finn, Chase, Rosalind, Tristin, Ashton, Caleb, Brody, Faith, Cole and Hannah; 2 stepsisters, Carol (Ronnie) Lattimore of Edwardsville and Gayle Eardley of Alton; and his step mother, Mary Hauhe of Alton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Angela Elizabeth.

Visitation will be at Paynic Home for Funerals Wednesday, Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m. Pastor Dan Smith will officiate.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
