Greg C. Hagen, 63, died at 9:37 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Born January 1, 1949 in Alton, he was the son of Curtis and Lois (Burch) Hagen. He worked for the Alton Schnucks and then for Midwest Golf and was a member of the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Godfrey. He loved his children and grandchildren, enjoyed exercising and was an avid bike rider. He enjoyed snow skiing with his brother Gary as well as snowmobiling with Gary and their brother-in-law, Jim. On April 24, 1976 in Alton, he married the former Cathy Osborn. She survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Christina Parker of Alton, a son Brett Hagen (Deena) of Rosewood Heights, eight grandchildren, Breanna, Allison, and Zachary Parker, Zachary and Sophia Hagen, Zachary, Kaitlyn, and Tristan Colley, brothers and sisters; Gary Hagen (Kathy) of Dorsey, Beverly Werner (Michael) of St. Peters, MO, Becky Grigsby of Godfrey, and Beth Boeser (Jim) of Edwardsville, many nieces and nephews, and his best friend, David Ayres. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Godfrey. Reverend Kenneth Tegtmeier will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
