Donna Jean Schoondyke, 66, died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born January 1, 1946 in Alton, she was the daughter of Everett Leroy and Betty (Baker) Austin Sr. She was a member of the Church of The Nazarene in Godfrey, enjoyed collecting dolls and liked to help people. She was a C.N.A. and private duty nurse and worked in the business office at St. Anthony’s Health Center. While living in Des Moines, Iowa, she worked for Wal-Mart in various positions. She married Freddie Schoondyke. He preceded her in death. Surviving are two son, Glen Curtis Mouser Jr. and James Leroy Mouser both of Bunker Hill, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and seven brothers and sisters; Carolyn Austin of East Alton, Marjorie Darr (Glenn) of Jerseyville, Luther Martin Austin of Alton, Cyrus Logan Austin (Cathy) of Alton, Danny Austin (Judy) of Cottage Hills, Joe Austin of East Alton, and Joanie Fowler (Kevin) of Cottage Hills. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, two brothers, Roger and Sonny Austin, and a sister in infancy. A memorial visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Church of the Nazarene in Godfrey. Pastor Steve Shotts will officiate.
