Donna J. Hayes, 74, passed away at 1:23 pm Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Eunice Smith Home in Alton.

She was born on March 5, 1938 in LaSalle, IL the daughter of the late Howard and Lela Frances (Noble) Pierce.

She married Donald E. Hayes on June 1, 1958 in Springfield, IL.  He survives.

She was a member of College Avenue Presbyterian Church in Alton. Donna was employed with the Illinois State Police where she met her husband Don, then with Bethalto National Bank and was a teller with US Bank in Alton and Bethalto.

In addition to her husband Donald, she is also survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel & Lisa R. Hayes of Godfrey, David & Julie Hayes of Alton, Doug & Barb Hayes of Godfrey, Darrin & Lisa G. Hayes of Godfrey,  one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie & Mark Macias; thirteen grandchildren, Brian and wife Tara Hayes, Scott Hayes, Courtney Hayes, Lauren and husband Ryan Hoefert, Joni Hayes, Hillary Macias, Jordan Hayes, Brittany Hayes, Kaitlyn Hayes, Emily Macias, Natalie Macias, Rachel Hayes and Brandon Hayes; and one sister, Kay Steele of Alton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Stephanie Hayes.

In celebration of Donna’s life, visitation will be from 2 to 6 pm, Sunday September 16, 2012 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home, 2521 Edwards Street, Alton, IL 62002.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am Monday September 17, 2012 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.

Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.
