The Civic Memorial Eagles opened the playoffs with a 71-31 win over Cahokia in girls basketball Tuesday night at the Class 3A Roxana Regional.
The Lady Eagles improved to 28-and-2 on the season. Allie Troeckler led the way with 28 points and 11 rebounds. Kaylee Eaton added 12 points including 3-three pointers in the game.
The Eagles only led 4-to-3 after one quarter but then scored 29 points in the second quarter to take a 33-15 lead at halftime.
Also in the first half freshman Anna Hall suffered a neck injury and left the gym on a stretcher. She was taken by ambulance to Children's Hospital in St. Louis. She apparently suffered no structural damage and was released late Tuesday night/Wednesday morning from the hospital. Hall's injury came with 6:22 remaining in the second quarter.

Triad defeated Jerseyville, 37-24 Tuesday night in the regional semi's.
