Cardinals righthander Alex Reyes will miss the 2017 season due to a torn ligament in his right elbow. He will have Tommy John surgery and start rehab as soon as possible.
The 22-year old pitcher made 12 appearances with the Cards last season including 5 starts. He had a 1.57 ERA in 2016 with 52 strikeouts in 46 innings (4-1 record).
