Allen Makes 38 Saves as Blues Win 5th Straight

The Blues skated by the Kings, 3-1 in Los Angeles Monday night to open their 5-game roadtrip.  It's the 5th win in a row for St. Louis.


Blues goalie Jake Allen made 38 saves in the victory.  The Kings outshot the Blues, 39-26.  David Perron opened the scoring in the second period with his 14th goal of the season.  Magnus Paajarvi scored a power play goal in the 3rd period - his 5th goal of the year - to make it 2-0.  Alexander Steen added an empty net goal late in the 3rd period to cap off the scoring.  It was Steen's 14th goal.

>>The Blues are now 5 points ahead of L.A. for the 8th and final playoff spot in the Western Conference (77-72).  St. Louis is still 2 points behind Nashville for 3rd place in the Central Division (79-77).  Nashville edged Winnipeg, 5-4 in overtime Monday night.


>>The Blues continue their (5-game) roadtrip Wednesday night against the Ducks in Anaheim.  St. Louis will face the the Sharks Thursday night in San Jose.
