Cards Sweep Pirates

The St. Louis Cardinals wrapped up a 3-game series with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday, winning 2-1 to sweep the series.  Michael Wacha earned the win, pitching 6 and 2/3 innings.  Matt Bowman and Kevin Siegrist pitched in relief and Trevor Rosenthal earned his first save of the season.

Dexter Fowler hit 2 solo home runs to account for both Cardinal runs and he battles out of a hitting slump.  Fowler was hitting just .132 coming into the series.

The Cardinals head out on the road for a 4-game series in Milwaukee starting tonight.  Carlos Martinez is on the mound for St. Louis and is looking for his first win of the season.
