The St. Louis Blues have given head coach Ken Hitchock a contract extension through the 2013-14 season. The deal includes an option for the 2014-15 season that will be jointly decided on. Hitchcock recently received the Jack Adams Award as the league's top coach this past season.
The 60-year-old took over for Davis Payne on November 6th after a 6-7-and-0 start. He led the Blues to a tie for second with 109 points and the Central Division title.
