The 2012 prep football season kicks off in ten days (Friday night, August 24th). The Marquette Explorers are preparing for the upcoming season in the Prairie State Conference. Tim Nelson is beginning his 5th year as the Explorers head football coach.
Nelson has added the 2011 Alton Redbirds head football coach Dwight Tungett to his staff. Tungett will be Marquette’s defensive coordinator here in 2012:

Tungett has had plenty of coaching stints around the Riverbend region including: Alton, C.M., Belleville West, Southwestern, and Roxana High Schools.
